Howes Percival and baby charity ADAPT in Peaks condition
Lawyers from the Leicester office of Howes Percival are stepping out with supporters from the Leicestershire neo-natal baby charity ADAPT to tackle the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge.
A dozen staff from Howes Percival and 16 ADAPT workers and volunteers are taking on the challenging 26 mile walk to the top of three Yorkshire peaks within 12 hours on June 19 to raise money for the premature and poorly baby charity.
Those taking part from Howes Percival include Jenna Bruce, Daryl Lant, Satnam Chayra, Karolina Zuk, Michael Briggs, Natalie Howes, Dipti Patel, John Herd and Mark Oldershaw. From ADAPT the walkers include Lindsay Rajczyk, Karen Sullivan, Maureen Savage and Sue Williams.
Michael Briggs, from Howes Percival, who did the Three Peaks in 2007, said: “I am really looking forward to taking part in the challenge with – and on behalf of – ADAPT. It is such a worthwhile charity, and our team hopes to raise as much sponsorship money as we can.”
ADAPT is the Howes Percival Leicester office’s chosen charity to support during 2010. In May Howes Percival organised a fashion show at the Tigers with the help of John Lewis, which raised about £1,000 for ADAPT.
The charity was set up in 1995 by Rob and Fiona Morris, following the premature birth of their son Harry who spent nine long months on the neonatal units before being allowed home. ADAPT offers help and a support network to parents of babies who require neo-natal special are.
Sue Williams, ADAPT’s Development Co-ordinator, said: “We’ve never done anything like this before. Most of us are going from couch potatoes to attempting the Three Peaks in a matter of weeks. I’m sure we will enjoy it and encourage each other on to the finish. Our thanks go to Howes Percival for supporting our charity and we look forward to taking part in the challenge alongside them.”
